Biography of the Dollar
Biography of the Dollar: How the Mighty Buck Conquered the World and Why It's Under Siege by Craig Karmin.

I enjoyed parts of this book, but it didn't really hang together. It's more a collection of individual articles about currency than any sort of coherent, unified argument.
To the extent it has a main theme it's the tremendous financial advantages the US derives from the dollar being the default global currency, and the threats on the horizon to that privileged position.
It has chapters covering a variety of subjects including the attempts by the treasury department to combat counterfeiters, the history of the dollar and the current power the Asian tigers get from their huge currency reserves. Some of these topics are more interesting than others.
