Coyote Man and Pan Boy in...
A Hero Down!
Young Powell and the beautiful Lucy Lamont stand by a partially open door in stately Lamont Manor. "I'm ready to go on patrol, Mr. Lamont!" Powell calls.
"Stop, young friend!" shouts a muffled voice from inside the dimly lit room. "Do not step into this chamber! Everything depends on it."
"I don't understand..."
Powell hears a cough. "I have been struck by a deadly, highly contagious plague. If we are to prevent it from spreading throughout the rest of humanity, you must locate an antidote."
"But... surely your mystical Talisman, the Coyote's Fang, protects you from disease!"
"That is what makes this virus so dangerous. Obviously, it has been specially engineered to defeat the Talisman's powers. This is no natural illness... It's the work of a villain!" He coughs once more. "Now hurry, young friend. Pan Boy must take to the streets and search out a cure before it's too late!"
"I understand," Powell says. "You can count on me!"
Lucy Lamont steps into the room. "Father, please! Let me tend to you!"
"No, Lucille! You must leave now! A young woman of your delicate constitution..."
"But father..." From the hall, Powell hears a pause. "All right, I'll leave..." Lucy eventually continues. "But I'm taking this!"
"Lucille! Put that down..." shouts Lamont. Then he coughs again.
Lucy steps back out to the hall, carrying Coyote Man's mask. "Wait, Powell... I'm coming with you."
Powell stares at her. "Are you insane? As Pan Boy I'm going off to fight a supervillain!"
"My father is dying in that room," Lucy says. "If there's any chance I can help find a cure, I plan to be there."
"But, Lucy, the danger..."
"Don't call me Lucy, Pan Boy." She pulls the mask over her head. "My name is Coyote Girl!"
