Episode 5
Donald Lamont steps into the kitchen.
"Ah, my young friend!" he says. "There you are! I've had a breakthrough in the hunt for the second stage of the Illusion Ray Satellite!"
"Oh..." Powell looks at him. "You've figured out where the launching area is?"
"No. But I've hit upon the most promising way to continue our investigation. Be here bright and early tomorrow, my boy... Donald Lamont and Powell are going to pay a visit to the offices of Lamont Energy."
Lucy shoots up from her chair. "What! Daddy, what are you talking about!"
"It's so obvious, I'm amazed I didn't think of it before. My brother was my business partner. Now he's Captain Camouflage. Where better to search for evidence of his hideouts than our old workplace?"
"Your brother! But Uncle Michael is dead!"
Lamont looks at his daughter. "Poor dear. I know this is hard on you. There are forces at work you don't understand."
"But Daddy! Cousin Mark will be in tomorrow. We're having a meeting with Myrna!"
Lamont's eyes narrow. "Yes, my nephew Mark... I've been meaning to speak with that boy." He turns to Powell. "We'll meet here at nine. The offices are a half hour away. There's no need to bring your Pan Boy costume. We'll conduct this mission in our civilian identities." He kisses his daughter on the check. "For now, good night!" He leaves.
"Oh God!" Lucy moans. "This is a disaster."
"Um... What's the big deal?" Powell asks. "Who's Myrna?"
"Myrna Zalkin. She's an old friend of my father's. She's the... the most important of the minor shareholders. If she switched her proxies... I'd lose my majority. She wasn't going to support me... She said I was too young, that I didn't have enough experience. The only reason she's not voting for my cousin is because I have daddy's backing and she trusts his judgment. If she finds out about his... his mental state... Oh God..."
Powell puts his arm around her shoulder. "Um... Don't worry, it's all right..."
"How can you say that! You know what daddy is capable of!"
Powell shakes his head. "Only when he's Coyote Man. But you heard him... We'll be going in our secret identities. He'll just be Donald Lamont visiting his offices. What could possibly go wrong?"
