Episode 1
The Adventures of Coyote Man
Coyote Man and Pan Boy in...
A Special Episode - The Secret Origin of Coyote Man
Mild mannered industrialist Donald Lamont sits at the computer in the Coyote Cave, scanning for crime. "A slow night, my young friend," he says to Powell, who stands beside him.
"Gee, that's too bad! I can't wait to get back into action as Pan Boy!"
"Nor I as Coyote Man! But, fear not. Evil never rests for long. Our chance to continue our battle for the side of good will come soon enough. In the meantime, it gives me the opportunity to tell you a fascinating tale... How Coyote Man Came To Be!"
"Wow! Your origin!"
"Yes... It all started when my beloved wife, Loretta, began to act oddly. It became apparent to me that she was spending more and more time with my brother and business partner, Michael. Eventually, she announced that she was leaving me for him."
"Gosh!"
"As you can imagine, I was distraught. But then, one night, I was visited by a strange apparition. It was the spirit of the shaman of an old Indian tribe."
"Boy! What tribe?"
"I'm not certain. It isn't important... The shaman made a startling revelation to me. My brother had invented a ray that gave him the ability to plant illusions in the minds of men... and women. He was using that ray to manipulate my poor wife, to make her believe horrible things about me. That was why she had left."
"The fink! Doing this to his own brother! But why did the shaman care?"
"Michael had ordered the construction of a new headquarters for our company, Lamont Energy. The shaman came to him and pleaded that a different location be chosen. The site being used was the old burial ground of his tribe... My brother just laughed at him."
"What a rat! We should respect the sacred places of other people's cultures."
"Yes... So the shaman appealed to me, begging me to prevent the desecration. But how could I, an ordinary man, foil the schemes of one equipped with that terrible weapon, the Illusion Ray?" Lamont reaches under his shirt and holds up the chain of a necklace he is wearing. Hanging from the end is a large, pointed tooth. "So the shaman gave me this."
"Gosh," Powell says, "what is it?"
"It is the mystical talisman of the shaman's tribe... The Coyote's Fang!"
