Week 23 - Impossible Dreams 8
Episode 2
Lamont and Powell run through a nearly empty mall on Long Island.
"The first component of Captain Camouflage's Illusion Ray Satellite is due to be launched any second," Lamont says.
"Please... slow down!" Powell calls after him, panting. "I'm not really... not really much of a runner..."
"There!" Lamont stops. "The launch bay!" He points toward a glass elevator in the center of the mall. "Look, someone's about to get onboard! It must be one of Camouflage's henchmen." He starts running toward the elevator.
"Oh no..." Powell takes a deep breath and follows.
A large man is waiting in front of the elevator. Lamont stops behind him. "Villain!" he cries. "Surrender and I promise you will not come to harm!"
The man slowly turns around and looks at Lamont. "You talking to me?" he asks.
"Know that you face Coyote Man! I will not allow you to pilot Captain Camouflage's satellite component into orbit."
The man stares at Lamont's costume and mask. "What are you supposed to be?" he asks.
Powell finally catches up and stops next to them. "He's just..." Powell pants, "he's just... um, fooling around..."
Lamont reaches into a pouch at his side and pulls out a pair of plastic toy handcuffs. "Will you surrender peacefully, or must we resort to violence?" he demands.
"Hey! Get those away from me!" The man knocks the cuffs aside. "Leave me alone, you f--king perv homos!" The elevator door opens and he steps on.
"So," Lamont says, "you want it the hard way! Very well." He reaches into the elevator and grabs the man's shoulder.
"I said get away from me!" The man pushes Lamont in the chest and the old man sprawls backward onto the floor. The elevator door closes and it begins to rise.
"Drat it, Pan Boy!" Lamont says. "We've failed. The first component is launching."
"Um... We've got another problem..." Powell
points toward two security guards
who are running toward them.
