Week 19 - Impossible Dreams 6
Episode 1
Powell talks with Donald Lamont in the eccentric millionaire's living room.
"This is an historic occasion, my young friend," Lamont says. "A mighty force for good is born, this day."
"Um... I just... I just want to do what I can to help..."
Lucy joins them. She is carrying a tray with three glasses of champagne, which she distributes. "Daddy, you'll be sure to take it easy when you go out with Mr. Powell, right? After all, he's not as experienced as you are at fighting the forces of evil."
"Ha!" Lamont says. "I have seen our Mr. Powell in combat, against the minion of the Arachnid Queen! He takes second place to no man in the pugilistic arts."
"Oh... uh... no," Powell says. "She's right! I... I think we should start slow... You know, work into things. There's, uh, no need to rush..."
"Evil never waits, my friend. And so, neither can those who would fight it." He raises his glass. "Now, I believe a toast is in order, to christen our new duo."
"A toast," Lucy says. She and Powell raise their glasses.
"Now," Lamont proclaims, "let all who would serve the forces of darkness cower and tremble. Let the innocent and the just rejoice. For today, begins a new era of battle and adventure. Today I proclaim the mighty team of... Coyote Man and Pan Boy!"
They clink their glasses.
"Uh... Pan Boy?" Powell says.
Lamont sips his champagne. "Now... Our first order of business must be to procure a costume for you."
Powell frowns at him. "Pan Boy?"
"Actually, Daddy, Mr. Powell told me that the Art Director of his magazine will design it for him," Lucy says.
"Excellent!" Lamont smiles. "I knew the lad's connections to the press would be useful to our cause."
"Pan Boy!" Powell begins to shake his head.
Lucy turns her back to her father and gives Powell a dirty look. "To Coyote Man and Pan Boy!" she says, turning back. She raises her glass.
