Week 17 - Impossible Dreams 4
Episode 3
Lamont looks at Powell. "Not a soul alive, outside this room, is aware of my identity!" he declares.
"Daddy!" Lucy shrieks.
"Um..." Powell looks at him. "You admit you're Coyote Man?"
"Daddy, don't say anything!"
"It's all right, Lucille," Lamont says "Mr. Powell can be trusted. In the never ending battle between Good and Evil, I know he stands on the right side."
Lucy cups her face in her hands. "Oh God..."
"Yes, I am Coyote Man, Mr. Powell," Lamont says. "It's pointless to try to conceal the truth from one of your observational abilities."
"Uh..." Powell says. "Can we... can we talk about it? I'd like to hear more."
"Daddy, please!" Lucy begs. "This is going to ruin everything!"
"Don't worry, Lucille. Mr. Powell will keep our secret. And he is a man of the press! He can provide me with information regarding emerging threats to the forces of law and order before the public becomes generally aware of them. He can be an invaluable ally in my mission!"
"Um... what is your mission?" Powell asks.
"To insure that innocents everywhere are safe to live their lives in peace! To see that no crime remains unpunished! To rid the world of fear and suffering! To fight the unwinnable fight!"
"But what do you..."
"Ahhh!" Lucy suddenly screams in terror.
"What... what's wrong?" Powell runs to her. Lamont watches him.
"It's a... it's a spider!" She points to the floor, near her feet. "I hate them! I hate them! Kill it, please!"
Powell looks down. He sees a large black arachnid, about the size of a cherry tomato. "Wow..." he says. "That thing is huge!"
