Week 14 - Impossible Dreams 2
Episode 1
Powell looks down. "Um... I don't have much, Harry," he says. "We know that there's a guy who wears a, sort of, makeshift superhero costume, with a Coyote mask. We know he's running around Long Island causing all sorts of trouble... But, um... I haven't been able to come up with much of anything else..."
"We need more to really make this thing big... Get out there... Try to find some of the people who saw this lunatic. Speak to them." Harry turns to Rantz. "Still refuse to let us talk to your son?"
Rantz shakes his head. "Leave Hal out of this."
"Fine... So much for team spirit. All right, what else do we know? He's male, an adult, a Caucasian... God, I love this investigative stuff... we've gotta start doing more of it!"
"Don't you think you're getting away a little from our audience's interests?" Rantz says. "I mean, they buy Fiddle and Burn to read about the next episode of Star Trek, not to see if there's enough evidence to indict the President."
"All I'm saying is we've gotta spice things up... Start digging for the dirt, right? Since when did a little scandal ever hurt any publication's sales?"
Powell shakes his head. "Um... Coyote Man is one thing, but... most of the people in fandom... uh... they're not exactly sexy, right? Not the type the tabloids usually cover..."
Harry looks at him for a moment. "You're right... Most of fandom's about as sexy as the stuff I scraped off my sneaker this morning... Maybe we've gotta make it our mission to change that..."
"Uh... Change that?" Powell asks.
Harry nods. "Yeah... Get the type of people involved who generate all sorts of x-rated, madcap antics..."
"And you would do this, how?" Rantz asks.
"I'm not sure..." Harry's face brightens. "Hey! Maybe we can get Prince Charles a subscription to Justice League!"
