Week 12 - Impossible Dreams 1
Episode 1
Rantz returns home after work.
“We have a problem,” Liza says, grim faced. “Hal isn’t here.”
“What do you mean, he isn’t here?”
“I mean that when he came home from school he went straight to the garage, without talking to me, and got on his bicycle. I haven’t seen him since.”
“Oh God… You think this is because I punished him?”
“You were a little harsh.”
“You’re the one who made me do it! I was going to let the whole thing slide.”
“But not letting him touch the computer for two weeks! That game he plays is practically his whole life…”
“Look, whatever… What do we do now? Is there anywhere you can think of that he might have gone?”
“Chuckie next door is the only kid I know who he plays with. I called, and he’s not there. I felt like an idiot asking…”
“So now what… should we call the police? Or just wait? It’s only been a few hours…”
“So, now you get in the car and drive around, looking for him. I’ll wait here in case he comes back.”
“Drive around? Where am I supposed to go?”
“I don’t know… All over… I’m sure he’s all right, but I do not like the idea of my baby out on the streets at night, by himself.”
“Fine… I’ll drive around looking for him. But… I’ll tell you this… There’ll be hell to pay when I find him!” He walks toward the front door.
“Just keep calm. Fighting is what caused all this in the first place.”
Rantz steps outside. “Fine… But I had a long day. I really don’t need this…”
“Right now, all that’s important is finding Hal.”
He sighs and hugs her. “I’m sure he’s all right…”
She nods. “I know.”
He gets into the car and pulls away.
