Week 5 - The Can - Part 3
Episode 5
Rantz and Liza sit on the couch in their living room.
“Now that we’ve finally got rid of that old garbage can, we can start thinking of fixing up the rest of this place,” Liza says.
“What’s the problem?” Rantz asks. “This place is fine.”
“It is absolutely not fine… Look at this carpet, for instance… It’s green!”
“Green is bad?”
“Green is pediatrician’s office… Green is elevator floor… Green is definitely not living room.”
“Okay…”
“You know what the Agnew’s have in their bedroom?”
“The Agnew’s…?”
“A red carpet! It’s like a brothel!”
“How do you know anything about the Agnew’s bedroom?”
“You can see into it from the window in Hal’s room.”
“That’s kind of disturbing.”
“I guess.”
“And this is what you’ve been doing with your time? Staring into the neighbors’ windows? Aren’t you supposed to be writing?”
“I know! It’s terrible! I haven’t written a word since we’ve moved here… I’m so distracted by getting this place set up…”
“So why don’t you write about that?”
Liza stares at him. “No one would care… It’s too boring.”
Rantz shrugs. “C’mon! Getting this place together... Some part of it must be interesting… Just pick out the funny parts and ignore the rest…” He gets up. “Anyway, I’m gonna get ready for bed.” He leaves.
Liza sits still for several moments. Then she walks to the home office where the computer is set up. She loads the word processor. “HOW TO THROW AWAY A GARBAGE CAN,” she types. “BY LIZA DELUCA”.
