“Why’d we ever have to move here from Philly, anyway?” Hal asks.
“You know that… I couldn’t turn down the job in Manhattan.”
“The job working for the geek magazine?”
“It’s not a geek magazine. It’s for fans of comic books and science fiction… But they approach it from a literary perspective… And they need a good circulation director.”
“Dad… those dudes are geeks with a capital G!”
“Who are you to talk? You spend all your time playing computer games! That’s pretty geeky.”
“No way! Comic books and sci fi are for total nerds. Computer games are cool.”
“They weren’t in my day.”
“When, like in 1802?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Hey! If you work for a geek magazine, does that make you a geek?”
“It’s not a geek magazine! It’s literary!”
“You’re gonna be, like, a geek by association.”
“It’s not a geek magazine!”
“Whatever, dad… I’m gonna go up to my room to read. Say hi to Mr. Spock for me!”
Hal leaves.
“I want to move back to Philadelphia,” Rantz says.
