Episode 3
Rantz talks with his twelve year old son Hal in the den of their new house. Unpacked cartons litter the floor.
“Our next door neighbor has a boy who’s about your age,” Rantz says.
“Dad! This stupid house has no three pronged outlets! How am I supposed to plug in the computer if the house has no three pronged outlets?”
“What… None?”
“My clan is practicing in half an hour! How am I supposed to play if I can’t plug in the stupid computer?”
“I think my stereo needs three prongs… Your what?”
“My clan. My team… the guys I play Death Zone 2 with on the internet…”
“That game where you run around shooting everyone? I thought Mom told you to cut back on that…”
“Whatever…”
“Look, I’ll call an electrician soon and we’ll update the outlets. Meanwhile, it’s a beautiful day… Why don’t you go outside and see if you can hook up with that neighbor kid?”
“How are we gonna watch T.V.? Even the T. V. needs a three pronged outlet!”
“We can’t watch T. V.?”
“Look at this! We have a working cable but we can’t plug in our T. V.! What’s that about!”
“We can’t watch T. V.?”
“I wanna move back to Philadelphia…”
