Week 1 - Geek By Association
Episode 1
Rantz and his wife Liza stand in front of their new house.
“You’ve got to get rid of it,” Liza says. “What’ll the neighbors think?”
“The neighbors!” Rantz says. “Even on Long Island the neighbors can’t be so superficial that they’d care what type of garbage can we have!”
“Things like that are important to people around here.”
“Well, I’m not gonna buy into it. We’ve got to make a stand at the beginning or we’re doomed.”
“We have to make a stand?”
“That’s right.”
“Over a rusty, dented garbage can?”
“Um… It’s not really about the can, it’s the symbol of it.”
“Sweetie, Oscar the Grouch would think this thing was too dilapidated. I refuse to be embarrassed every time I take out the trash.”
“You plan on being the one to take out the trash?”
“I mean, every time I make you take out the trash.”
“Liza, no one will care! It’s the twenty first century… Everyone’s… I don’t know, grown beyond stuff like that.”
A man approaches from the house next door, his hand extended. “Hey!” he says, as they exchange shakes. “You’re the new couple, right? I can’t wait to see what you do with this place! When are you planning on getting rid of that disgusting garbage can?”
